Senior Minister Punjab Raja Riaz Ahmad has said that a special relief and rehabilitation programme will be started soon for poor orphans under which Pakistan Bait-ul-Mall will provide economic assistance to 100 needy orphans of every district.
He said that the lists had been finalised and only deserving orphans would be facilitated through this programme, he said while talking to Chairman Pakistan Bait-ul-Mall, Zamurd Khan who visited Faisalabad to finalise the programme, here on Monday.
The chairman met with district heads of Pakistan Bait-ul-Mall and directed them to compile the lists with the consultation of local elected representatives and forward it to him as early as possible so that this programme could be started. He told them that a summary requiring Rs 6 billion for this scheme had already been sent to the Prime Minister Secretariat for the allocation of funds.
He further said that Pakistan Bait-ul-Mall had started various welfare schemes for the poor and deserving people. On the occasion, the chairman announced that motorbikes would be provided to the field staff of the district offices. The mission of public welfare and helping the poor would remain continued with full vigor, the minister said.
