The Lahore Township Industrial Association (LTIA) has said that Punjab government's focus on industrial areas would definitely help province make a hub of industrial and economic activities. The LTIA Chairman Chaudhry Zaheer Bhutta stated this while speaking at a meeting of the industrialists of Lahore Township Industrial area.
The Association's Vice Chairmen Shahzad Mughal, Khalid Chohan, PIAF Vice Chairman Iqbal Baig and a large number of industrialists were present on the occasion. He said that the early completion of Peco and Madr-e-Millat roads reflected the provincial government's interest in promoting industrial activities.
He said that Lahore Township Industrial Estate was largest industrial area of the Punjab where more than 400 industrial units, including textile, engineering, auto-parts, plastic, ghee, ice cream; dying, pharmaceutical, steel beverage, hosiery and food etc were operational.
These units were providing employment to nearly 40,000 people while paying billion rupees to the national exchequer, he said. A few days ago, industrialists of this area were facing multiple difficulties due to dilapidated roads, but now situation is quite otherwise, he said and added that Punjab would become a hub of industrial and economical activities.
