On the special directions of Ombudsman Punjab Khalid Mahmood, Children Complaint Office (CCO) had successfully done first phase of orientation sessions in 100 schools of Lahore and Sahiwal. Core objective of this direct link with students was to give awareness to children about the protection of their rights. Working and mandate of Children Complaint Office (CCO) was discussed with the students to obtain their suggestions for the improvement of system.
CCO teams visited 100 schools of Lahore and Sahiwal. During these sessions the students, parents and teachers were informed about the mandate, objectives and working of CCO. They were briefed about complaint handling procedure of CCO, which includes child friendly investigation, psychosocial analysis. The students were given full knowledge about lodging complaint with CCO. The students were informed about the laws and acts for the protection of children.
Ehsan Ghani focal person of children complaint office said that CCO has finalised its strategy to conduct more orientation session throughout the province. He said that CCO has developed close liaison with civil society organisations, NGO's and the parliamentarians. Ghani further said that the time has come to address the children's grievances on priority basis.
