A good news came from the Punjab Assembly that it has passed a resolution against the increasing number of packages announced daily from mobile companies, especially the late night packages. This is a timely action and needs support from the National Assembly followed by the government of Pakistan.
If we look around, we will notice that teenagers, amongst the young generation, look busy with their mobile sets. What are they doing, clearly when they are hiding something from their parents and elders, there is something wrong and as a result, we can see large gatherings of the new generation in KFC and other multinational restaurants. Beside this, in the halls, you can see a number of young couples walking on the roads and sitting in the parks.
This is really the negative impact of the mobile phones, on our young generation and the credit goes to mobile companies offering various late night packages, including ghanta (hourly) offers and SMS ka khazana etc, at very cheap rates but they have increased their sale volume by increasing members as well as their turnover. On the other hand, what are we loosing?
The future of our current and next generations. It is really the duty of all of us, with the government, to stop this dangerous game at this stage. We can do this by keeping a strict watch on our younger brothers, sisters or sons and daughters, while the government can discourage mobile companies by forming strict rules to stop the current prevailing and upcoming SMS and night call packages and charging penalties and fines on companies who do not stop these lifetime packages, which is not less than "heroin nasha". This is the only way we can return our young, as well as the next generation, to their studies. So please do not hesitate to play your part at all level.
