Rains hit life in AJK

Rains over the last four days have affected normal life in various parts of AJK including Mirpur. Mirpur was lashed by heavy downpour coupled with windstorm affecting electricity, roads and telecommunication system in various parts of the district. There are also reports of trees being uprooted and electricity poles at several slum areas in the division because of the windstorm.
Telecommunication and electricity system was particularly affected as a result of the rainfall, which continued intermittently. The rainfall turned the weather chilly and resultantly people went into the winter clothing since the adjoining top mountainous areas of Indian held Kashmir received heavy downpour. Kacha houses were also partially affected in various areas.
