Federal Minister for Inter-Provincial Co-ordination Pir Aftab Hussain Shah Jilani underscored importance of inter-provincial harmony for achieving consensus on all national issues. He said that the Inter-Provincial Co-ordination is a forum provided by the incumbent government for resolving provincial problems with the dialogue and mutual understanding and national spirit.
He was chairing a meeting on construction of power project on Chashma Jhelum Link Canal which was held in Ministry of Inter-Provincial Co-ordination here on Thursday. This meeting was held on the directions of the Prime Minister Syed Yousuf Raza Gillani in order to have an understanding of the issue particularly stance of the Sindh province, which had certain reservations on construction of power project on Chashma Jhelum link Canal.
All representatives expressed their views from the core of their heart to generate a consensus on the project. Pir Aftab Hussain Shah Jilani has asked all the four provinces to send their viewpoints, reservations, suggestions or any other information which may be relevant to the proposed project.
The meeting was attended by the Secretary, IPC, Ahmad Mahmood Zahid, Senior Joint Secretary Muhammad Anwar Khan, Secretary Water & Power Shahid Rafi, Chief Planning & development Division Mr Naseer Ahmed Gilani, Vice Chairman NEPRA Mr Ghiasuddin Ahmed, Chairman IRSA Aman Gul Khattak, Secretary, Irrigation and power department, Punjab Major Azam Suleman Khan (Retd) and other senior officers of the federal and provincial governments.
