Replacing nazims with administrators: LCAP to observe black day on February 19
The Local Councils Association of the Punjab (LCAP) has finalised the arrangements for observing black day on February 19 against the Punjab government's decision to replace nazims with administrators. In this connection, the Association held a meeting here on Friday, which was chaired by Association's president Syed Muhammad Asghar Gilani, disclosed a LCAP's spokesman.
The meeting decided to observe the black day in all the districts of Punjab with the support of political parties and civil societies. It rejected the wrapping of the existing local government system and appointment of administrators by the provincial government.
The meeting also approved Data Ganj Baksh Town Nazim Tariq Sana Bajwa's suggestion of challenging the appointment of administrators in the Supreme Court of Pakistan. District convenors from Lahore, Sargodha, Bahawalpur, Lodhran, Jehlum, Bakhar, Narowal, Bahawalnagar, Muzafarghar, Kasur, Sialkot, Attock, Gujrat, Chakwal, Faisalabad, Gujranwala, Vehari and Saiwal also attended the meeting.
