A representative delegation of Association of Defence Residents (ADR) led by its chairman Attique-ur-Rehman held a meeting with Administrator DHA' Brigadier Khalid Tirmizi to discuss the problems of the residents at DHA's Main Office here on Friday. DHA/CBC officials were also present on the occasion. CEO Cantt Board Clifton Zeenat Ahmad also attended the meeting.
Brigadier Tirmizi in his opening remarks stressed the need of frequent interaction between residents associations and DHA for getting realistic and useful feedback on various issues of interest. He stressed that active involvement and participation of residents in DHA's affairs was catalyst in building it as an elite housing scheme.
The delegation was informed that the intricate repair works of DHA Cogen Power and Desalination Plant has lately been completed by Siemens engineers. The Cogen plant is likely to start its uninterrupted operation soon after the final check and certification by a German expert. Brigadier Tirmizi asked DHA to arrange presentation for the residents' associations on the' efficacy of plant by the management of Defence Cogen Ltd (DCL).
The Administrator said that CBC was making concerted efforts to overcome the elusive problem of acute water shortage in the area. He said that CBC would employ scientific and specialised machinery for detecting and identifying 30 percent to 35 percent underground water leakages from water supply lines, which accentuate the water shortage problem. He said that all out efforts were being made to overcome the elusive problem of water scarcity in DHA.
The delegation was informed that 50 percent work of under construction Zamzama Parking Plaza has already been completed. However, the contractor was finding it difficult to complete the project due to the financial crunch. DHA was actively negotiating the issue to get the project completed at the earliest. The ADR delegation included the Associations Secretary Asad Qizalbash, Aziz Suharwardy and reps of residents societies of various phases. ADR passed a vote of thanks for DHA at the end of meeting.-PR
