The central Majlis-e-Shoora of Jamaat-i-Islami has passed a resolution in which they demanded that government should strictly implement law to maintain law and order in the Karachi. The Shoora demanded a judicial inquiry of the Ashura and Chehlum incidents in which innocent people were killed.
It also demanded a compensation of 0.5 million for all those who were martyred during two years and 0.3 million for those who were injured during these two years. In a statement issued here from Mansoora on Saturday, the Shoora demanded a free, fair and impartial local-bodies election in Karachi. The government should take practical steps to stop land mafia in the city and vacate the playgrounds, it added.
The resolution which was passed in favour of the local body system demanded that the local body elections in the country would be held on party basis on the same day in the country. Election should be held under the free, fair and transparent election commission.
The present local government should continue. District, town and Tehsil nazims should be directly elected to discourage turn coats, it maintained. The resolution also passed a resolution in favour of the youth of the country demanding the government should give interest-free loans to the skilled youths of Balochistan, Swat and Wazirstan. Jobs should be given on merit, it added.
The resolution, which was passed on Balochistan, demanded that the provinces should be given autonomy according to 1973 constitution. The resolution about tribal areas demanded that government should announce to quit from the US war on terror and stop the ongoing operation in the tribal areas.
