Former Real Madrid player and coach Luis Molowny has died at the age of 84, the La Liga club said on their website (www.realmadrid.com) on Saturday. Tenerife-born Molowny, a midfielder who represented Spain seven times, spent 11 seasons with Real as a player from the mid-1940s, winning two league titles and one European Cup.
He had four stints as coach, leading the club to three league triumphs and two UEFA Cups, and one term as sporting director.
