Summaries of the ICE Futures US cocoa, coffee and sugar markets early on Tuesday. May arabica coffee contract rose 1.60 cents to $1.3590 per lb at 11:07 am EST (1607 GMT). Session range from $1.3360 to $1.3645. Arabica coffee climbed to a two-week high on support from the weak US dollar, and strong commodity complex.
March/May spreading boosted volume earlier in the session, said brokers. March raw sugar contract gained 0.48 cent to 27.43 cents per lb at 11:08 am. Trading range from 27.12 to 27.72 cents. Sugar moved higher along with other commodities and on investor optimism in stock markets, with a firm boost from the weak dollar, said dealers.
Benchmark May cocoa contract moved $53 higher to $3,156 per tonne at 11:08 am. Trading band from $3,127 to $3,164. US cocoa futures climbed on the weak dollar and ignored the political turmoil in top cocoa grower Ivory Coast, said traders.
