Special Central Anti Corruption Court Faisalabad/Sargodha Division has disposed of the case against Federal Interior Minister, Rehman Malik, when complainants, witnesses and investigators appeared before the court and requested to dispose of the matter.
A case was registered on the complaint of one Sarang Ahmed, complainant of charge of misuse of power registered against Federal Interior Minister Rehman Malik and some other officials of the FIA appeared before the court and recorded his statement. He said that Federal Minister was serving as Deputy Director in FIA in year 1999 when the case was lodged.
Complainant of the case along with two of witnesses also appeared before the Special Central Anti Corruption Court Faisalabad and recorded their statements claiming that the Minister was not involved and therefore, not required in the matter. All these persons told the court that the case had been resolved and they did not want to pursue the case. The main accused of the case a former FIA inspector has already been acquitted some years ago.
On Thursday, FIA Faisalabad authorities also appeared before the court and pleaded for the disposal of the case on grounds of investigation and statements of the complainants. Assistant Director FIA Faisalabad, Muneer Akhtar Shah, said that Interior Minister Rehman Malik was not required in the case, as he has been found innocent. He further claimed in the report that witnesses of the case are also reluctant to join the proceedings so the case against Rehman Malik should be disposed of. After detailed hearing of final stage, Judge Tariq Mehmood Iqbal ordered to dispose of the case against Federal Interior Minister Rehman Malik.
