The Pakistan Tanners Association (PTA) has constituted a committee which would remain involve and work closely with Punjab Industrial Estate for setting up of Leather City in the provincial metropolis. The committee would comprise of Muhammad Naim, S M Naseer, Agha Saiddain, Khurshid Alam and Mansoor Iqbal.
PTA has already decided to set up Leather City in the city to exploit the hidden potential of the leather sector. The Association has already decided to set up Leather City in collaboration with the Punjab Industrial Estates (PIE) near Raiwind, Lahore.
The PIE Chief Executive Officer Ali Muazzam Syed, PTA office bearers including Chairman PTA (North) Muhammad Naim Sheikh, S.M Naseer, PTA former Chairman Khurshid Alam and others representatives visited the site and termed its suitable for the purpose. The PTA office bearers expressed hope that development of Leather City would help utilise the hidden potential of leather industry and pave way for boasting exports of Leather through a working public-private partnership between the two organisations.
