TMA challenges TDAP's towel export data

Towel Manufacturers Association of Pakistan (TMA) has contested the export data about towel exports, released by Trade Development Authority of Pakistan (TDAP), but did not give its own export figures. In a statement here on Wednesday, chairman, TMA Waqar Alam said that the rise of 53.85 percent in towel exports volume and 22 per increase in value during January 2010 are on the higher side.
Similarly, decline in average unit price by 20.67 percent over corresponding period is also not correct, he added. TMA chairman said that the association was compiling its own data and will release it to the press, but maintained that TDAP should be extra careful while releasing the important export data of the country.
