Train derailment in Nawabshah: people suffer due to disturbed schedule of trains
The passengers are facing irritating hardships, as the schedule of trains remained disturbed for the third consecutive day on Friday due to an incident of train's derailment in Benazirabad (Nawabshah). Although officials of Pakistan Railways claimed the track at the site of the accident had been repaired, hundreds of people are stuck at Cantt Station, waiting for hours for the arrival of trains.
According to Kashif Yusufani, Divisional Commercial Officer (DCO), Pakistan Railways (PR) Karachi, Tezro Express was to depart at 24.00 hours with the delay of over three hours. Khybermail, which arrived at the station late, was expected to depart from Cantt Station at 24.00.hours instead of 22:00 hours.
He claimed that the other trains like, Millat Express, Tezgam Express Karachi Express, Allama Iqbal Express etc were being run as per their scheduled timings. The people, who were scheduled to travel by these trains, were not informed about the delay and they were in confusion whether they should wait or go back to their homes.
They complained that the railway authorities failed to regularise trains' schedule even three days after the derailment incident, which showed their incompetence. They said that they were facing problems due to the poor communication and information system of PR, as even the information counters had no information about the exact arrival and departure timings of the trains.
