Airport Security Force on Thursday foiled two bids of ammunition smuggling to Jeddah and Malaysia during checking of the luggage of two passengers, sources said. The ASF recovered one live round of 9mm concealed in sweets, in the luggage of Abdul Razzaq who was going to Jeddah from Karachi International Airport.
The passenger hailed from Dera Ghazi Khan. The ammunition was recovered during scanning of the luggage. In another incident, the ASF recovered four cartridges of 12 bore, concealed in cloths. The ASF recovered ammunition from the luggage of a passenger hailing from Rahim Yar Khan and was going to Malaysia by flight MH-160. The ASF handed over both the passengers to police after necessary interrogation.
