President Italy-Pakistan Business Association (IPBA) Ettore Marzocchi called on Punjab Chief Minister, Shahbaz Sharif at Chief Minister's Secretariat, here on Saturday. Matters regarding bilateral co-operation in various sectors came under discussion during the meeting.
The Chief Minister, talking to the President IPBA said that there were vast opportunities of investment in livestock, agriculture and other sectors in Punjab and government was encouraging the investors for this purpose. He said that Punjab Investment Board had been made vibrant and active for solving the problems of investors and providing them all out facilities. He said that a comprehensive strategy had been evolved for the promotion of private-public partnership in the province.
He said that Pakistan produces high quality mangoes, which were known to the world due to its good quality and taste. He averred that through processing plants, not only huge foreign exchange could be earned by exporting high quality mangoes to other countries but farmers could also be made prosperous.
He said that IPBA should benefit from opportunities of investment in various sectors in Punjab and such joint ventures are initiated for the promotion of various sectors as could benefit both the countries. On this occasion, Ettore Marzocchi said that IPBA was an important group of investors and desirous of investment in various sectors including uplift and improvement of food processing, slaughterhouses and tourist spots in Punjab.
