The Punjab Labour and Human Resources Department has set up modern laboratories at Center for the Improvement of Working Conditions and Environment (CIWCE) and Industrial Relations Institute (IRI) to provide advisory services on working environment issues to the industries.
The Punjab Minister for Labour and Human Resources Muhammad Ashraf Khan Sohna said this while talking to a delegation of workers, here on Thursday. The Minister said that CIWCE and IRI are the only institutions of its kind in the country, where training, information, advice and research facilities on safety health and environment, labour laws, child and bonded labour to industry workers and government agencies are being provided.
Ashraf Khan Sohna said that CIWCE has produced over 500 labour related publications including videos and has won prestigious national and international award including ISO-9001 award. Hostel facilities are also being available on campus, concluded the Minister.
