Army officers, soldiers honoured

A simple but impressive Investiture Ceremony was held at Corps Headquarters Auditorium. Commander Lahore Corps, Lieutenant General Ijaz Ahmed Bakhshi, who was chief guest on the occasion, decorated 48 Officers, Junior Commissioned Officers and soldiers with military honours and awards at the ceremony.
The honours were awarded to the recipients in recognition of their acts of gallantry, outstanding performances in their respective field and for their long meritorious services.
The recipients of the Tamgha-i-Basalat are; Brigadier Muhammad Saleem, Special Services Group, Lieutenant Colonel Syed Mubasher Hassan of Northern Light Infantry, Major Sajid Ilyas of Army Aviation, Captain Waqas Rashid of Punjab Regiment, Captain Safar Khan of Baloch Reghiment, Captain Ijaz Shah of Baloch Regiment and Sepoy Asbar Khan of Azad Kashmir Regiment.
Posthumous award of Tamgha-i-Basalat were received by next of kins of Major Sarmas Rauf (Shaheed) of Frontier Force Regiment, Risaldar Muhammad Khan (Shaheed) of Armoured Corps, Havildar Muhammad Qasim (Shaheed) of Punjab Regiment, Havildar Abdur Rauf (Shaheed) of Baloch Regiment, Havildar Pervez Iqbal (Shaheed) of Baloch Regiment, Havildar Abdul Rehman (Shaheed) of Frontier Force Regiment, Naik Muhammad Tariq Anjum (Shaheed) of Punjab Regiment, Naik Shahid Rasool (Shaheed) of Special Services Group, Lance Naik Muhammad Nawaz (Shaheed) of Pakistan Rangers (Punjab), Lance Naik Ghulam Nabi (Shaheed) of Corps of Signals, Lance Naik Muhammad Arslan Sajjad (Shaheed) of Punjab Regiment, Lance Naik Naveed Hussain (Shaheed) of Punjab Regiment, Lance Naik Sarfarz Hussain (Shaheed) of Corps of Engineering, Sepoy Khalid Hussain (Shaheed) of Punjab Regiment, Sepoy Ghazanfar Ali Khan (Shaheed) of Corps of Signals, Sepoy Shakeel Ahmed (Shaheed) of Baloch Regiment, Sepoy Iftikhar Ahmed (Shaheed) of Northern Light Infantry, Sepoy Zafar Iqbal Khan (Shaheed) of Baloch Regiment, Sepoy Muhammad Rizwan (Shaheed) of Azad Kashmir Regiment, Sepoy Ghulam Gillani Khan (Shaheed) of Special Services Group, Sepoy Iftikhar Ahmed (Shaheed) of Special Services Group and Sepoy Arif Hussain (Shaheed) of Punjab Regiment.
The recipients of the Tamgha-i-Imtiaz (Military) are: Lieutenant Colonel Muhammad Masood Khan of Frontier Force Regiment, Lieutenant Colonel Azhar Azam Shami of Punjab Regiment, Lieutenant Colonel Irfan Abbas of Baloch Regiment, Lieutenant Colonel Al-Haj Tariq Mehmood of Punjab Regiment, Lieutenant Colonel Muhammad Mushtaq of Army Services Corps, Lieutenant Colonel Shahzada Jehangir Ahmed of Corps of Military Intelligence, Lieutenant Colonel Abdur Rehman Khan of Baloch Regiment, Lieutenant Colonel Muhammad Nadeem of Army Aviation, Lieutenant Colonel Rana Javed of Artillery, Lieutenant Colonel Muhammad Khalid Pervez of Army Medical Corps, Lieutenant Colonel Zafar Khurshid Choudhry of Army Medical Corps, Lieutenant Colonel Irfan Ali Sheikh of Army Medical Corps, Colonel Mona Zafar of Army Medical Corps, Lieutenant Colonel Begum Jan Khattak of Armed Forces Nursing Service, Major Muhammad Awais Farooqi of Corps of Signals, Major Sher Muhammad Khan of Ordnance, Major Hassan Saleem of Corps of Signals, Major Nadeem Babur of Army Air Defence and Major Muhammad Shuja of Baloch Regiment.
The ceremony started with recitation from the Holy Quran. Besides the General Officers Commanding, Major General Raza Muhammad and Major General Mazhar Jamil, the ceremony was attended by a large number of Army officers, Junior Commissioned Officers, Jawans and relatives of the awardees.
