The commodities on the wholesale markets depicted by and large easy condition during the week ended on March 27, 2010 and trading seen in low profile. The prices of wheat, rice, cottonseed cakes showed easy going.
Such as wheat old with bardana lost Rs 40 to Rs 4200, new type same quality shed same amount to Rs 2415. Irri rice 6 Sindh lost Rs 100 to Rs 2480, gur better type lost Rs 100 to Rs 5100, while better type was quoted at Rs 5600. Til shed Rs 100 to Rs 3800 and 4,000.
On Jodia Bazaar milk powder skimmed (per bag of 25 Kgs) Nurpur scaled down Rs 50 to Rs 6500, Amul (India) quoted at Rs 7000, Vegetable Euro Gold quoted at Rs 8000 and Corolac down by Rs 600 to Rs 8100. Sweetened (per carton) Polac ended higher by Rs 200 to Rs 2600 and Comelle rose by Rs 450 to Rs 3750, Pineapple (per carton) Polac sacled higher by Rs 95 to Rs 1365.
On Tuesday markets remained closed on account of Republic Day.
On Wednesday only seed and grain markets were functional, reported the following changes: moong Punjab scaled down by Rs 250 to Rs 6250, while other type was quoted at Rs 6500. Masoor Canada lost Rs 100 to Rs 7700, and masoor dal Canada lower type by Rs 200 to Rs 8800, while the better type was quoted at Rs 9000, Irri 6 Sindh lost Rs 40 to Rs 2440. Rapeseed Nawabshah rose by Rs 40 to Rs 1650, rapeseed from Dadu rose by Rs 100 to Rs 1500, while better type was quoted at Rs 1525. Rapeseed Mirpur low type shed Rs 40 to Rs 1660, while better type was lower by Rs 80 to Rs 1750. Cottonseed cakes with bag shed Rs 10 to Rs 1020, while better type was quoted at Rs 1030.
On Thursday rice sector showed higher going as Irri 6 Sindh was higher by Rs 200 to Rs 2440. Guwar Sindh was lower by Rs 50 to Rs 3650, while the other type was quoted at Rs 3800. Guwar Punjab lost Rs 50 to Rs 3600, while other was quoted at Rs 3700. Gram from Australia quoted at Rs 4100, while the other was quoted at Rs 4300, gram dal Australia was registered at Rs 5100, while the other variety was quoted at Rs 5200. Bajra was quoted at Rs 1850 and better quality was quoted at Rs 2500.
On Friday no business was reported as almost all the market players were busy in preparations for Juma prayers. On Jodia Bazaar chemical items moved both ways. The changes were: CHEMICAL ITEMS (Per kg): N J Taiwan closed higher by Re 1 to Rs 173 and oxalic acid China edged down by Re 1 to Rs 64. PETROLEUM JELLY: PVA Japan moved upward by Rs 2 to Rs 212 and Sitara caustic soda flakes closed downward by Rs 4 to Rs 41.
On Saturday gram 50x50 was higher by Rs 50 to Rs 4150-4350, gram dal 50x50 low type picked up the same amount at Rs 5150, while the better type was sharply up by Rs 150 to Rs 5350. Yellow peas Canada, however, shed Rs 50 to Rs 2650-2800 and dal yellow peas Canada was lower by Rs 50 to Rs 2900-3050. Barley Sindh and Mardan (new) were down by Rs 100 to Rs 2100. Irri-6 Sind was down by Rs 15 to Rs 2425, other types sustained the overnight levels. Castorseed Lasbela and Sindh were registered at Rs 1900 and Rs 1800.
On Jodia Bazaar raw rubber Ceylon ended down. The changes were: CEYLON RAW RUBBER (Per lb): Merryrub (Equivalent to RSS3) was quoted at Rs 152 and RSSV was quoted at Rs 152. LATEX: Merrytax (28 kg) closed lower by Rs 20 to Rs 980, Semnan Tex edged down by Rs 30 to Rs 980 and Thai (GT) moved downward by Rs 30 to Rs 980.
