Sindh Minister for Culture, Ms Saussi Paleejo, on Sunday said that the government is equally attentive to improve women education at urban as well as rural areas in province of Sindh. The Sindh Minister was addressing a two-day conference on "Women in Pakistan in the 21st Century" organised by Sindh Graduates Association (SGA) Women, Karachi Branch, at a local hotel here.
The minister also lauded the role of SGA for development of women education at interior Sindh and welfare of the women. Ms Saussi Paleejo also presented Rs 3 million cheque for SGA and Rs 0.5 million for SGA Karachi Branch to President SGA, Ms Mehtab Akber Rashidi.
She said the women had been deprived of their due rights during the tenure of previous government. Awards were also presented to notable women on their outstanding show in their respective fields.'
The recipients of the awards were including, Apa Shams Abbasi, Sultana Siddiqi, Rubina Qureshi, Mehtab Mehboob and Sakina Samoo. Ms Fareeda Tahir, Shama Soomro and Shazia were given Mamta Certificates. Speaker Sindh Assembly, Nisar Ahmed Khoro, Chairman SGA, Suleman Sheikh and Secretary Culture, Shams Jafarani were also present on the occasion.
