The importance of learning to enable the individual to put his potentials to optimal use is self-evident. Without education, the intellectual improvement of an individual is incomplete and being a proud father, I am much concerned about the education of my kids because it is the best thing the parents can give to their children. And, this is what I am doing.
Education can be divided into five levels - primary, middle, high, intermediate and university education. I feel bestowed that I am in a financial position to afford all these stages of education for my kids; but in this high time of inflation, it is often hard for the parents to even manage all the necessities for their children.
While going through the news of launching educational programme for the poor students by Punjab Education Foundation (PEF) in northern districts of the province, including Rawalpindi, I am happy to learn that the Punjab Education Foundation's educational expansion will provide monthly stipends of Rs 350 for elementary and Rs 400 for Matric students of partner schools in selected districts. It has made me realise that the Punjab government is concerned about the education of downtrodden strata.
I have also learnt that the PEF has expanded its network from 19 to 29 districts, which means giving free education to more and more children and giving relief to more and more parents. It will help the poor students to get benefit from the foundation.
It is Punjab government's obligation to provide education to each and every child. Only this way, we can get rid of terrorism and the menace of poverty can also be eliminated by promoting quality education. Education will broaden economic options of the youth. I pray that may the PEF act as the force-multiplier to achieve this goal.
