Jamshed Dasti, candidate for the local polls from NA-178 has said that the party has given him the ticket on merit. "The party has faith in me," he said while speaking at a joint press conference with son of Prime Minister, Syed Abdul Qadir Gilani at Circuit House, here on Sunday.
Dasti said that PPP has unanimously decided in a meeting chaired by President Zardari to finally give him the party ticket from NA-178 and Prime Minister Gilani was also present in the meeting. "The party has trust in a labour and worker and I am very grateful to the party," he added. Syed Abdul Qadir Gilani said that tickets were released and later on the candidates took back their nomination papers. "Now candidates can start the election campaign after submitting the nomination papers but the party can change its candidate during the last five days," he said.
Syed Ahmad Mujtaba Gillani did not make any mistake by telling media about getting the party ticket because it was decided earlier that he would be given the ticket but now, "We welcome the decision of the party for giving party ticket to Jamshed Dasti," he said. Media Advisor to PM for Punjab, Sindh and Balochistan said regarding this issue that earlier it had been decided to give party ticket to Syed Ahmad Mujtaba Gillani for NA-178 but President Zardari called Syed Ahmad Mujtaba Gillani to Islamabad and changed the decision.
