Brazilian Honorary Consulate Office is likely to be established in Faisalabad in near future. In this regard an Honorary Consul General shall be appointed from the Faisalabad Chamber of Commerce & Industry (FCCI) said Commercial Officers of Brazilian Embassy Farooq Arshad and Muhammad Yasin during a meeting with the President, FCCI, Sh Abdul Qayyum, Senior Vice President, Muhammad Ayub Mughal and Chairman, FCCI Trade Delegation Jamil Ahmad and Members Executive Committee.
They further said that Business Community of Faisalabad will be facilitated in particular. In this regard the new office of Brazil Consul is established at Sector F-8, Islamabad. While during his opening remarks, the President, FCCI said that the bilateral trade between the two countries is expanding in recent years.
The balance of trade remained in favour of Brazil. However, there are vast prospects of expansion of bilateral trade including joint ventures and transfer of technology from Brazil. He added that Pakistan exported to Brazil leather products, textile yarn, Fabrics, Surgical instruments and sports goods.
Whereby the Brazil exported to Pakistan Sugar, Soyabean oil, paper, paper board, Iron & steel and chemical material. However, there is dire need to build positive image of Pakistani products in the Brazil Markets. While expressing his views FCCI Senior Vice President, Muhammad Ayub Mughal said that business community having good travelling history should be facilitated by the Brazilian High Commissioner and 5 to 10 years multiple visas should be granted in this regard.
Jamil Ahmad, Chairman, FCCI Trade Delegation Committee pointed out that the Brazilian Government should relax import procedure and law as the products once imported through ports is not movable to other ports. He further emphasised that the delegations of the both countries should visit frequently to enhance trade.
