The Lahore High Court (LHC) here on Thursday after awarding one day exemption to interior minister Rehman Malik for his personal appearance adjourned to April 30 the hearing of two appeals against conviction in NAB cases. A division bench of the Lahore High Court (LHC) accepted Malik's application for one-day exemption from personal appearance in which he submitted that he was busy in the session of the Senate and could not attend the court proceedings.
The court had already granted him bail after suspending his conviction under section 31-A of National Accountability Ordinance (NRO) in two references made by NAB. Two corruption cases were registered by the Federal Investigation Agency against Rehman Malik in 1997 and 1998 during his tenure as the additional director general of the FIA. One was for receiving two cars as illegal gratification and another for raiding a house and keeping the loot.
