Free movement of Abdul Qadeer Khan: LHC seeks reply from federal government till May 10

The Lahore High Court (LHC) here on Friday sought reply from federal government by May 10, in an application of nuclear scientist Dr Abdul Qadeer Khan against non implementation of a LHC orders about his free movement. The applicant also prayed to the court to clarify its order, as the government was misunderstanding the same.
His counsel Syed Ali Zafar contended that on March 23, 2010 Attorney General of Pakistan had stated before the court that Dr Khan's movement will not be restrained, except to the extent that he had to inform the government before travelling anywhere and not to make any statement about nuclear proliferation.
He said the recent order of the LHC clearly specified that the petitioner will inform the government about his programme and the government will arrange security for the Petitioner within half an hour. Ali Zafar pointed out that an ambiguity was created, which was never the intention of the court and may be used to exploit the order of this court against the petitioner.
