citizens continued protest against the load shedding on Friday. The residents of Township took to the streets against long spells of load shedding. In addition to this, the industrialists from Township Industrial area also joined the citizen and held protest at the Ferozepur Road.
The industrialists warned of closing down 300 industrial units at the Quaid-e-Azam Industrial Estate in case government failed to address the situation. It may be noted that the Quaid-e-Azam Industrial Estate is the manufacturing hub of auto sector accessories with high concentration of labour. Closure of the industry will result in massive unemployment, which means further unrest. The supply demand gap of electricity has widened to 5000MW and the government has no clue how to overcome the phenomenon.
