Pakistan Society for Training and Development (PSTD) organised the second 'Women in Business and Leadership Conference (Wibcon)' at a local hotel on Saturday, in collaboration with Engro Corporation Limited as the major sponsor and Terrabiz as the event organiser.
The conference aimed at highlighting the emerging role of women in Pakistani society along with addressing the issues affecting the growth of women in today's corporate world. The conference also drew attention to the challenges and the rapid emergence of women as the moving force for change and development in this century.
The event was inaugurated by PSTD President Salman Burney, followed by the conference keynote 'Empowering Women through Engagement' by Eithne Treanor from CNBC Europe. The conference had a number of thought-provoking sessions on areas that aimed at benefiting the careers of working women. Some of the more well received sessions included 'women as business leaders', 'handling issues at the workplace', and syndicated sessions on 'spirit of success' and even a 'career speed dating' workshop.-PR
