As the ground breaking initiative to inaugurate its Community Development Project in the vicinity of Bin Qasim Power Plant, KESC on Monday held an Eye camp, at Lath Basti in collaboration with WWF and LRBT. Bin Qasim is one of the areas of intervention identified by KESC through its community need assessment to focus on health, educational, environment and overall capacity building of the community.
KESC is already engaged in various development projects in Ibrahim Hyderi in the neighbourhood of its power plants in Korangi, with a population of around 100,000. "Acknowledging its inseparable connection with civic facilities, KESC is keen to improve the overall life standards of Karachi's underprivileged communities with special focus on communities around our power plants in Korangi and Bin Qasim. The Bin Qasim development project is the second of its kind initiated by KESC in the neighbourhood area of BQPS at Lath Basti. The area presents a mix of urban and rural setting.-PR
