ACCA and WWF is jointly organising "Business Earth Talk" (BET) on April 22. The following activities will conclude in the discussion forums including 'Water: The Next Carbon' and 'Disclosing Transparency, the Changing Landscape', followed by the ACCA-WWF Pakistan Environmental Reporting Awards 2009. ACCA is the global body for professional accountants.
A press release stated that "ACCA aims to offer business-relevant, first-choice qualifications to people of application, ability and ambition around the world who seek a rewarding career in accountancy, finance and management. "We use our expertise and experience to work with governments, donor agencies and professional bodies to develop the global accountancy profession and to advance the public interest".
Bringing together stakeholders from different walks of life, the event provides an excellent opportunity to discuss current trends in best sustainable practices and the evolving nature of business reporting. The Awards scheme recognises and rewards companies that report on corporate environmental, social and sustainability performance to a broad range of stakeholders. Minister for Environment, Hameed Ullah Jan Afridi is likely to attend the ceremony.
