Dr Wasim Kauser Inspector General (IG) National Highways & Motorway Police (NH&MP) has said the NH&MP have adopted the policy of merit in connection with the promotions of police officials. The IG said all possibilities of outside interference in connection with the promotions had been eliminated and promotion of all police officials had been associated only with their performance, commitment to work, seniority and purely on merit.
He was speaking in a meeting at IG Camp office, Lahore. The A/DIG Muahmmed Ali Nekokara was also present on the occasion. He further said that performance management of police officers in their operational role is conducted through their Annual Reports, which assess them on their competency, character and performance in their current ranks and posts.
He emphasised upon the senior officers of motorway police to take concrete measures to maintain lane and line discipline, so that accidents being occurred due to this reason can be avoided. He also directed the officers to launch a one-month campaign for creating awareness about lane and line discipline. He also directed the officers to maintain the proper working of helpline 130 to provide timely help to road users.
