DCO Saeed Wahlah paid whirlwind tour to the tehsil Jaranwala to review necessary arrangement of wheat procurement centres. He visited Buchiana, Rodala Road, Joke Ditta and Jaranwala city centres and inspected arrangement there as directed by the Punjab government.
He checked the record of distribution of gunny bags among the wheat growers and directed the concerned staff to produce to his office daily report of distribution of bardana and its target. He warned that any unfair and injustice distribution of bardana was found in any centre, the criminal cases would be got registered against the defaulters, besides stern departmental action.
He said that the complaint centres at every purchase centre should be remained active for the prompt disposal of growers' complaints and the phone numbers of district complaint centre should be displayed on the conspicuous places for the information of the growers.
The DCO also met with the farmers and said that under the directions of the Chief Minister Punjab Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif, the district administration was fully committed to implement the wheat procurement campaign in letter and in spirit for the purchase of wheat from the farmers on government support price, ie Rs 950 per 40 kg. He advised the farmers to bring their crop on purchase centres following the directions and conditions announced by the food department. DDOR Jaranwala Irfanullah Khan, DDOC Zaheer Ahmad and others officers were also present on the occasion.
