Corn and soyabean futures on the Chicago Board of Trade fell early on Monday, pressured by a firmer dollar and favourable planting weather in the US Midwest, traders said. Wheat futures followed corn and soyabeans lower. Traders were also taking profits in all three markets after last week's strong rally in grains.
As of 9:40 am CDT (1440 GMT), CBOT May corn was down 9-1/4 cents at $3.54-3/4 per bushel. May soyabeans were down 77 cents at $9.78-1/4 a bushel. CBOT May wheat was down 10-3/4 cents at $4.79-3/4. Kansas City Board of Trade May wheat was down 11 at $4.95-1/2 and Minneapolis Grain Exchange May spring wheat was down 8-1/4 at $5.11-3/4.
