Soyabean futures fell at the Chicago Board of Trade on Thursday on spillover weakness from declines in the corn and wheat markets, traders said. Falling crude oil prices also weighed on the soya complex for much of the trading day. CBOT July soyabeans ended down 1 cent at $9.64-1/2 a bushel while new-crop November dropped 2-1/4 cents to $9.35-1/4 a bushel. Funds sold 1,000 contracts.
USDA said 474,600 tonnes US soya sold for export last week, near the low end of estimates for 450,000 to 650,000 tonnes. Deliveries on May 65 lots. CBOT July soyaoil fell 0.38 cent to 38.05 cents per lb. Funds sold 2,000 soyaoil contracts. Deliveries on CBOT May were 91 contracts. CBOT July soyameal gained $1.70 to $281.40 per ton. Funds bought 1,000 contracts. USDA said 93,300 tonnes US soyameal sold for export last week, within estimates for 75,000 to 150,000 tonnes. No deliveries on expiring CBOT May soyameal contract.
