KARACHI: A group of twenty- six foreign service officers, led Director General of the Foreign Services Academy Iftekhar Aziz visited FPCCI on Tuesday visited Federation of Pakistan Chambers of Commerce and Industry and had an interactive session with FPCCI members.
FPCCI Secretary General Dr. Iqbal Thaheem briefed the delegation about the role and functions of the FPCCI in promotion of trade and industry in the country, along with welfare of the business community.
They were also informed about the economy of the country and policy requirement for sustainable growth under the changing scenario.
The foreign service officers were also briefed on exports and trade pattern and its likely movements in post GSP plus. The apprehension of the participants on Brexit impliacton on Pakistan trade was cleared.
He also informed that how commercial activities were correlated with the law and order situation.
Dr. Iqbal Thaheem informed that trade agreements by Pakistan had proved remain unfavourable for the country. FPCCI had been recommending reconsideration and renegotiation.
The delegates were also briefed on investment scenario specially on investment and employment opportunities that would be emerging with China Pakistan Economic Corridor.
The participants of the 37th Specialized Diplomatic Course held a questions and answers session with FPCCI officials.
The vistis concluded with the vote of thank to the FPCCI by the Ambassador and Director General Foreign Service Academy Iftikhar Aziz.
