Raw sugar and cocoa futures rose early Thursday, while arabica coffee slipped. Arabica coffee trickled lower in consolidative dealings after two volatile sessions. ICE September arabicas traded down 1.3 cents or 0.8 percent to $1.6170 cents a lb.
Brazil exported 1.79 million 60-kg bags of green coffee in June, down 18 percent from 2.17 million bags in the same month of last year. Sugar up but below highs on investor buying, said brokers. ICE October raw sugar traded up 0.16 cent or 0.9 percent at 17.22 cents a lb as at 1548. Cocoa was little changed in rangebound dealings. ICE September cocoa traded up $6 at $2,987 per tonne.
