Pakistan Post honours Champions Trophy heroes

Pakistan Post has paid a tribute to the Champions Trophy winning squad by issuing special commemorative postage stamps and souvenir sheet.

Pakistan Post’s Treasury Officer Karachi Tariq Awan said that about 50,000 souvenir sheets and 300,000 stamps have been issued. The stamps and souvenir sheets will be available at post offices across the country from today (Thursday).

“The set of three stamps will cost Rs30, while the souvenir sheets are priced at Rs50 each,” Awan told reporters.

It is pertinent to mention here, Pakistan thrashed arch rivals India in the final of ICC Champions Trophy in England. The green shirts set up a huge 339-run target on loss of four wickets. Chasing the total, Indian batting collapsed and were bowled out on 158 runs in the 31st over.

The score is Pakistan’s second-highest against India. The last time Pakistan beat India in an ICC event was in 2009 that was too in Champions Trophy.
