Raw sugar prices hit their highest level in three weeks early on Thursday, breaking through key resistance, with shipment delays in Brazil helping to tighten nearby supplies. Coffee prices also advanced while cocoa edged lower. October raw sugar on ICE broke above a double top at 17.70 cents a lb set earlier this week and rose as high as 18.03 cents before falling back slightly to 17.97 cents by 1535 GMT, up 0.50 cents or 2.9 percent.
September arabica coffee on ICE rose 1.85 cents or 1.2 percent to $1.5915 per lb. September cocoa on ICE fell $13 to $2,922 a tonne.
