The federal government has changed its strategy to effectively deal with the terrorists and 'hired assassins' in this violence-hit metropolis. Further, army can also be called in here, if need be. This was stated on Thursday by Interior Minister Abdul Rehman Malik while talking to the media at Karachi Airport.
He claimed that the new strategy would soon show results and normalcy would return to the city within next 24 hours. Asked if the government was considering an option to call in army, the interior minister replied in affirmative saying the same might be opted as per need.
Malik warned that Taliban and other 'hired assassins' should either stop bloodletting in the city or ready to face a stern action. Expressing zero tolerance of the government towards terrorism, he conceded that miscreants through possessing huge arms and ammunition were deteriorating the peace of the city.
He said Prime Minister Yousaf Raza Gilani would soon be visiting the provincial capital to review the law and order situation here. Later, the interior minister visited MQM's headquarters, Nine-Zero, and condoled the tragic demise of Syed Raza Haider and his gunman Khalid Khan last Monday.
