The killing of MQM MPA Raza Haider, who was known for his gentlemanliness and human qualities, and his bodyguard, has proved that the law-enforcement agencies have miserably failed to protect human lives. Those who are killed are included political leaders and activists.
The worsening law and order situation of Karachi, being the hub of the country's business and finance, badly hurts the country economically. It is a pity that a blame-game by political parties is going on to score political points against each other. The only solution to save the city from further bloodshed is to deweaponise the city.
This job can only be done by Pakistan Army, otherwise this violence will be out of control and it will not possible for any state institution to control it. The political leaders should also advise their workers to surrender their arms and settle their political differences through dialogues. It is observed that the PPP government in Sindh is a spectator, ignoring its prime responsibility of protecting the lives and property of Karachiites.
