Be very wary of those that consider themselves the cat's whiskers. If someone is beating his drum for the better part in any discussion, be very careful for he is a scoundrel of the highest order. Be also very wary of those that have danced in other countries and are now presenting themselves as the true patriots.
One has to ask the question time and again that if the person has been such a soaring success in the other parts of the world what is he doing in this part of the world when he has been kicked out of the country where he has spent the best part of his life and where like the mercenary soldier has given his best against the country of his birth and now wants more resources to fulfil the patriotic requirements. Is he to be preferred over those who have taken the country as it is and fought the scoundrels of this world and fought a pitched battle with the tyrannical forces that usurped legal and lawful authority of the elected forces? The result is obvious and the floods of human degradation is far worse that the degradation caused by the floods today.
Imagine what has happened in this country for every time we have had a political governance hiccup in come the flies who are attracted by misplaced by the feeling of dancing before the poor countrymen, thus showing themselves as selfless leaders trying to get the country out of the mess that has been created by the last government. The mess is so serious that when they leave the very governance that they wanted to correct they leave it in a bigger mess. Consider how the economic decisions have been left to the forces that were the root cause of the mess in the past and one can predict that any government that does not have the roots of honour in the people will meet the same fate-create a mess for the country and sweep aside decency and economic well being.
I have been examining the work of these individuals and the individuals that have come and taken over the forces that are more umbrella organisations and thus have an overarching impact on society. That very society they left when they were young to greener pastures and worked with individuals that were never supportive of the country.
Brainwashed and brain cleaned, they come with theories that were from armchair economists of the West that have never visited the country where these policies and theories were to be implemented. Shaukat Aziz was once introduced to former PM Benazir Bhutto in not very complimentary terms and what does one think of the man who held the most coveted post of the country and now works for Mittal, the Indian entrepreneur, and if the Supreme Court had not been there, the Steel Mills in Pakistan would have been sold for a song. The intentions were very clear for the steel mill is just more than the steel mill, it is a strategic industry from where most of the countries effort has to come in upstream industry.
The subservience of the country's top brass is what was most wanted by the powers of that time. Cuddle them with stories and with fantasies of their power and you can get to any stage. The tyrant in power does not want to have discussion on anything and nothing could worry these interveners from the West for they had obeyed orders all their life from the supreme powers of the White world. Just see how the major decisions were taken in the recent past. Well, the societal systems have broken down and the targeted killings are going on, then who is responsible for the safety of the ordinary citizen? The police? You got another bet coming. You have had it and what has happened in the system. Who is incharge of the relief work? The civil servant had been trained to take whatever action that was necessary. It may not have been perfect, yet the person was there, taking whatever action was required.
Who will do the relief work? What institution and who will guide such an institution? Musharraf and Shaukat Aziz were criminals that had to face the country, but when the accountability part came, they went into hiding with their cohorts. Similarly, those that said they could go into the bedroom of the Shaukat Aziz and that there daughters were friendly with them will invoke more such instances to curry favour with the powers that be and waste some more time of the country and all the time making sure that they were fulfilling their lust at the expense of this country.
They have perverted all concepts of governance and it is surprising that those that were in the West and spent something like forty years of the time in that country are more criminal in direct proportion to the time spent in that country. We have had this situation not only with the governors of State Bank, but also with the people that have entered posing as scientist when, in actual fact, they were fags of the White bosses and they are very good at throwing names at you. They will take the names of all Tom and Harry's of this world. Not only are they demented, they are also sick in the mind and are pathological cases.
If one were to go through the economic policies that were implemented during the period under question, then the irresistible conclusion is that these policies were destined not to create forces necessary for the development of this country. The bureaucracy for what it is and was worth the fact that they were and are so worried at what might happen to them that they all are not bothered as to what would be the consequences of their actions and decisions.
There are matters the very essence of life that cannot be compromised. When weaknesses come to the fore, then the way out is not bury one's head in the sand but to take the matters at the need level and take action that is necessary irrespective of all those that have siphoned off financial resources from the country. Irrespective of the connection that they announce and that is what the country is not to fall prey to the scoundrels of the imports that we have had.
What is the liability of the collaborators? Well, it has to be the same as that of the actual perpetrator of the crime against the nation. Fiscal accountability is just one aspect of the overall accountability factors. The liability in terms of perversion of the societal systems and the time delays cannot be overcome and the only way out is to make sure that the situation that perverts is never again to come to the fore.
The difficulty seems to be in the people that were responsible for these debacles creating policies for they are still in play and are still there as representatives of the Musharraf government. One has to really pity this nation in terms of what Khalil Gibran wrote much early and has pity for the nation that does not understand the implications of its actions just because the powers that be are what they are. They were where they were but not anymore.
In any case the country is not likely to last unless the principles are strongly favoured and implemented not connective tissues like my daughters are friendly with the PM's family and so on and so forth. Connections do not speak louder than actions and the actions have been found wanting in most cases.
Life is what it is? Take it and it helps you along. When one was at odds with the tyrannical forces friends asked that I leave the country. My answer was simple that one does not leave the country of ones birth no matter what happens. Let the people answer questions that were put to them when they were found wanting.
There is no question of status in this for this is as much my country as yours and we breathe the same air and the same smells that all of us are in the habit of doing for the betterment of the country and not for its failure. Stand up and be counted instead of being intriguers in life. Say it as it is and think as you say it and then implement as you think and as you say. Savvy.
