Violence in occupied Jammu and Kashmir has touched new heights, killing scores of youths and undermining peace of the valley. This situation emerges from India's reluctance to admit that its occupation of Kashmir is unjustified and in violation of basic human rights. This fact is evident from its intention to send more troops to crush the unarmed protestors.
In this scenario, Pakistan must come out with a clearer, stronger stance, demanding of India to shun violence and give Kashmiris the right of self-determination. It must also appeal to the international community to hold India accountable for severe war crimes in the valley.
