Scores of flood-stricken people staged a protest demonstration in TMA Jampur against the unavailability of food and drinking water here on Sunday. A large number of people gathered at the Tehsil Municipal Administration and chanted slogan against district authorities, officials' failure to provide security, food and drinking water to them.
The angry protesters hurled stones at tehsil, district officials and police. Meanwhile, the city resonated with intense firing last night. According to locals, law enforcing agencies failed to provide security to them. Few security men patrol on a tractor-trolley to guard the city. Locals demanded the government enhance patrolling in the city. When contacted, DIG Ahmed Mubarak said law enforcing agencies were patrolling the city and also performing relief activities.
