The profit after tax of Service Industries Limited has increased to Rs 233.577 million in the half year period ended on June 30, 2010 as compared to Rs 196.675 million earned in the corresponding period in 2009. The board of directors of the company, in its meeting held on August 28, 2010, declared that the company's earning per share has increased to Rs 19.42 in the period under review against Rs 16.35 in the same period a year back.
According to the financial results sent to Karachi Stock Exchange (KSE), the company's sales increased to Rs 4.620 billion in the first half of 2010 against Rs 3.708 billion in the same period in 2009. The cost of sales increased to Rs 3.879 billiion against Rs 3.094 billion. The company's profit before taxation increased to Rs 349.755 million in the half-year period in 2010 against Rs 291.804 million in the same period in 2009.
On quarterly basis, however, the company's profit after tax declined to Rs 89.250 million translating earning per share of Rs 7.42 in the quarter ended June 30, 2010 as compared to after tax profit of Rs 151.882 million with per share earning of Rs 12.63 in the same quarter in 2009.
