Punjab Finance Minister Tanvir Ashraf Kaira on Friday observed that although all available resources were being provided to the flood affectees for their early rehabilitation, but the large scale devastation needed more help and aid from international community.
He said that the international community should write off loans of Pakistan in this critical situation, as Pakistan is facing two challenges: war against terrorism, and flood victims. "The international community should change its stance and more aid should be provided to Pakistan," he added.
According to him, the government is reviewing the losses estimate by using modern technology like satellite and would also conduct aerial survey in this regard. "Aid should be provided to the affected people in a transparent manner. It is hoped that the nation would celebrate Eid with simplicity, and 'fitrana' would be given to the flood affected people," he added.
