Around Rs 100,000 being charged extra for iPhone X in Pakistan
Soon after the launch of iPhone X, Apple lovers are getting their hands on the brand new phone even if they have to wait for hours in queues. However, much to everyone's disappointment, e-commerce stores in Pakistan are charging a whopping Rs 200,000 for the phones, which originally cost $999.
The phone was so popular that its pre-orders began by the end of October and went out of stock in less than 60 minutes. While the 64GB model is priced at $999, the 256GB model costs $1,149.
However, since Apple does not officially launch iPhones in Pakistan, thus there is no specific price for the country. As a result, various e-commerce sites in Pakistan are selling the new iPhone X at their own desired costs and since the iPhone X is not yet available in the retail stores, people are left with no choice other than buying the phone at their decided prices.
iPhone X is already breaking a day after its launch
As example, ‘iShopping’ which is an e-commerce site that is selling iPhone X 256GB for Rs 190,000, an amount at which you can get an exceptional gaming laptop. However, the site offers iPhone X 64GB for Rs 160,000. In the same way, another online site named ‘HomeShopping’ has made 256GB version of the iPhone X for Rs 186,000 and 64GB one at Rs 157,000.
Another e-commerce website called ‘Shophive’ offers the 256GB version for Rs 200,000 and 64GB for Rs 175,000 and with many others offering the phone in almost the same price range reported Tech Juice.
However, as BGR reported, not many days ago the Apple CEO Tim Cook said that if people can afford a coffee at a nice place in United States, they can afford the iPhone X. “So, if you think about it, that’s a few coffees a week. It’s less than a coffee a day at one of these nice coffee places,” he said.
Now it is up to the users to decide whether the iPhone X is really worth the hefty price tag or are e-commerce sites charging a bit too much from the customers here?
