Five hundred tents were handed over on September 2, 2010 by SOS Children's Villages of Pakistan to Brigadier Shaheryar Khan and Colonel Aimal of Pakistan Coast Guards for flood relief. These are in addition to 500 tents given to the Army for distribution on 24th August, 2010 making a total of 1000 tents.
These tents have been provided under special emergency grant of Rs 15 million from global headquarters of SOS Villages in Austria to SOS Pakistan. Each tent is made of special waterproof fabric and can accommodate a family of at least 6 persons including two adults and 4 children. In addition special arrangements are being made to provide target of 16 million meals to flood affected people in all four provinces of Pakistan.-PR
