Gohar Ejaz, Chairman All Pakistan Textile Mills Association (Aptma) Punjab has rolled out Aptma future strategy stating that the prevailing textile industry situation demands largescale unity and active participation and input from all members on managing challenges in the larger interest of industry and association. He was addressing a meeting of Businessmen Council on Thursday, largely attended by group members.
He said the Businessmen Council was grateful to the entire members for their confidence and trust on the leadership during the elections, third in the history of Aptma contested keenly, and bringing landslide victory with a huge margin. He said the election euphoria is over and the two contesting groups should play positive role and mitigate their differences in the larger interest of the industry and the association.
Gohar Ejaz said the industry is passing through a period of unprecedented challenges including cotton shortage due to devastating floods in the country, energy security for the industry due to growing shortages of electricity and gas, financial issues ie liquidity crunch and banks' limits, availability of raw materials, market access and image building of Aptma as a vibrant and premier industry association.
He said only the unity and uniformity of action of the members can take the industry out of prevailing challenges and their active participation and input is imperative to manage the larger interest of industry and association. Gohar Ejaz said the Businessmen Council will welcome all recommendations, suggestions and guidance from respected members for promotion and protection of textile industry. He assured that the newly elected Aptma management would remain attentive to the issues of every member of the association irrespective of the size and stature.
