The Lahore Chamber of Commerce and Industry on Thursday felicitated newly appointed Governor of State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) Shahid Hafeez Kardar and hoped that being an experienced economist he would utilise his best abilities for the economic well-being of the people in general and business community in particular.
In a congratulation message to the SBP Governor, LCCI President Zafar Iqbal Chaudhry, Senior Vice President Ijaz A Mumtaz and Vice President Faisal Iqbal Sheikh expressed the optimism that Kardar would evolve new policies to meet the enormous economic challenges being faced by the country.
The LCCI office-bearers also invited the attention of Kardar towards the high mark-up that is not only creating problems for industrial concerns but also making Pakistani goods non-competitive in the global market. They also urged the SBP Governor to visit all the chambers of the country and share his future strategy with the business community.
