A fresh inflow of $2.588 million of foreign investors portfolio investment (FIPI) was witnessed at the local equity market during the outgoing week ended September 9, 2010. According to the National Clearing Company of Pakistan Limited (NCCPL) data, the cumulative inflow of this mode of investment has increased to $9.706 million during the current month. A healthy inflow of $41.320 million was witnessed during the previous month.
The week started on a positive note with a net inflow of $1,201,072 on Monday while $614,198 came in the country on Tuesday. A fresh inflow of 1,003,605 was recorded on Wednesday. However, the foreign investors opted for profit taking on Thursday and remained net sellers of shares worth $230,245 on Thursday. The market remained closed on Friday on account of Eid-ul-Fitr.
